General Terms and Conditions

The goal of this document is to define the commercial relationship between SAS GRAND HOTEL LAFAYETTE, which operates the Grand Hotel Lafayette, 6 rue Buffault 75009 Paris, France (hence referred to as the "Hotel") and its clients.

Booking

Prior to placing any reservation, the customer agrees to supply the information required on the reservation form.
When the bank information is validated, the reservation is deemed made. The reservation process will consist of the following steps: selecting a room and rate, selecting one or more complementary services, if applicable (applies only online), entering client contact information, entering debit/credit card details if necessary for guarantee or prepayment, consulting and accepting the general terms and conditions and the conditions of sale for the reserved rate, and submitting the reservation. The customer certifies that the information given is correct and genuine. The Hotel promptly acknowledges receipt of the customer's reservation by sending an e-mail to the address provided by the client.

Payment Options

Payment for all services will be made directly to the hotel (with the exception of reservations that demand prepayment at the time of booking).
Except for special pricing or restrictions and conditions, the customer supplies his/her debit/credit card details to ensure the reservation. It is possible to use a bank or proprietary credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). This information is entered directly by the client on the encrypted web form.
Except for special prices or terms and conditions that demand payment at the time of reservation (online prepayment for specific rates), payment to the hotel will be paid during the stay.
In the event of an online prepayment rate, the money paid in advance, which serves as a deposit, is deducted at the time of reservation.
The amount deducted upon reservation at the time of prepayment includes: the accommodation rate, the restaurant price if breakfast is ordered, taxes, and any additional supplementary services specified by the customer.
The tourist tax is never included in the prepayment, advance payment, or quotations made prior to the client's arrival.
In the event of a no-show (if the client fails to arrive for a reservation that has not been cancelled), the hotel will charge the client a penalty fee equal to the first night's stay using the card details provided to guarantee the reservation.
Reception personnel may inquire the credit card used for prepayment upon arrival at the hotel. It must be named after the reserve. If the card is in another name, the cardholder must call the hotel ahead of time to fill out an authorization form and give a copy of the debit/credit card and a form of identification.

Rates

The rates include relevant VAT as of the reservation date; any later change in the VAT rate (10%) will be charged automatically to the rates displayed on the invoicing date. Rates are given in euros. When the invoice is issued, the tourist tax and any additional services supplied by hotel employees during the stay will be added to the cost specified in the reservation.

Your stay at Grand Hôtel Lafayette

When the client arrives at the hotel, he or she is required to fill out an arrival form and produce a form of identification to verify his or her identity. If the client does not produce a form of identification, the hotel retains the right to cancel the reservation. The client acknowledges and agrees to utilise the accommodation in a reasonable and appropriate manner in accordance with its intended use. As a result, any behaviour that is opposed to established moral values and public order will result in the hotel management asking the customer to leave the premises without compensation or refund, if a payment has already been made. If no payment has been made, the client must pay for all nights stayed before leaving the premises.
The client will be held liable for any property damage, deterioration, or act of vandalism that may occur as a result of the occupation of the premises and/or the actions of his/her guests and/or employees, including any data losses, viruses, or service disruptions. It is totally forbidden to smoke or vape within the hotel. If the customer smokes or vapes, he or she will be charged the cost of shutting and properly cleaning the room.

Relocation of Guests

If unusual circumstances or technological issues make it impossible for the customer to stay at the hotel, the hotel will make every effort to arrange other lodgings, preferably in a hotel of the same or higher rating level. The hotel will pay for one-way transportation between the two hotels.

Terms & Conditions when cancelling

The terms and conditions of sale for the reserved rate indicate the procedures for cancelling and/or changing the reservation.
Reservations made with prepayment or predeposits cannot be changed, cancelled, or returned. This is indicated in the reserved rate's terms and conditions of sale.
When the terms and conditions of sale for the reserved rate allow it, the reservation can be cancelled immediately via the confirmation email or on the online Services platform. Unless otherwise specified, the rooms are available as of 2:00 p.m. on the arrival date and must be vacated by 12:00 p.m. on the last day of the reservation. Depending on hotel availability, a late departure may be available for an extra cost.
According to Article L. 121-20-4 of the Consumer Code (France), the customer is notified that he/she does not have the right of withdrawal provided for in Article L. 121-20 of the Consumer Code.

Claims

To avoid forfeiture, any claim must be submitted directly to the hotel or delivered by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt no later than 15 days following the departure date.

Liability

Although every effort is taken to guarantee that the images, graphics, and texts used to describe the hotels being provided provide the most accurate portrayal of the accommodations on offer, differences may occur, particularly as a consequence of furniture changes or potential future restorations. On this basis, the customer may not make any claims, and images do not form a contract.
The hotel cannot be held liable for failure to complete or incorrect completion of the reservation due to a force majeure event, an unforeseeable and insurmountable third-party action, or an action taken by the client or its partners, such as lack of internet access, unavailability of the website, outside intrusion, or computer viruses, or if the account holder's bank declines prepayment.

Law/Language in Use

French law governs these basic terms and conditions of sale.
The contract is written in French. If the general terms and conditions of sale are translated into a foreign language, the French language will take precedence over any translation in the event of a dispute, legal action, difficulty in interpreting or enforcing these terms and conditions, and, more broadly, regarding the parties' relationship.

General Terms and Conditions updates

These General Terms and Conditions of Internet Sale may be changed or added at any time. The updated version of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale through Internet will immediately apply to all clients once it is placed online.

Other basic conditions that apply to all clients

The customer agrees that he or she has read and accepted these general terms and conditions, as well as the terms of sale for the reserved rate, which are both available on the Internet.
The reservation must be made in the name of one of the people who will be staying at the Hotel (hence referred to as the "Client").
The client's agreement to the general terms and conditions and the terms of sale for the booked rate becomes effective upon reservation; no reservation can be made until this agreement is obtained. These General Terms and Conditions apply to the client's individual bookings made for his/her own usage.
The client declares that he or she is of legal age and not subject to guardianship or wardship, and that he or she is legally able to engage into contracts.
